The gang was all there for the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce Christmas party held Monday evening at the Tippecanoe Township Building in North Webster. Under the direction of committee chairmen and chamber board members Linda Land and Richard Owen, the evening progressed from pleasant to hilarious via entertaining games.
The social hour commenced at 5:30 p.m. with dinner being served at 6:30 p.m. by chamber member Grill-N-Grate, Syracuse. Dessert was by The Cake Lady, another chamber member. More the 60 people were in attendance. Chamber board member Don Roulo gave the grace.
Hilarity ensued as the group fractured the poem “Twas the Night Before Christmas or A Visit from St. Nicholas” by Clement Moore. The not-quite-like-the-original poem was read with comic skill by Capt. Bob Barnes of Dixie Sternwheeler Inc. Four teams were chosen at random from the crowd to play North Webster’s own version of the TV show “Family Feud” with humourous results.
The event is another example of how the chamber seeks to bring the community together for the common good.
